What educators are saying

My students loved this resource. I adapted it to a choiceboard and my students were happily engaged the whole period.
Thank you for making this resource! All my kids were engaged. I will be using this for years to come.

Description

Each year, as Earth Day approaches, I want to get my students thinking critically about how we impact our planet, negatively and positively. This activity comes with both Google Slides and PowerPoint versions. Your students will read two articles, one about the history of Earth Day and one about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. They will summarize one article and answer questions about the other. Then, they will create a comic strip encouraging students to make changes at school that will create a more eco-friendly and sustainable school. Lastly, they will reflect on places and things they love about Earth, as well as write a creative story about an alien invasion. They are tasked with instructing the aliens how to protect their own planet from pollution and waste. I hope your students have fun with this activity!
