    Description

This growing bundle contains all the parent education handouts you need for early intervention. This bundle contains five products, with plans to add additional pages related to reading and play. Our goal is for this product to be all you need for parent education in the early intervention setting. Did we miss something? Please use the Q&A to request additional products!

All resources are research-based, clearly written, and professionally designed. We recommended sharing these resources with parents of children who may not qualify for speech-language therapy or families who are new to your early intervention caseload. These materials are appropriate for all children - both those who are typically developing as well as those with a speech or language delay. Straightforward descriptions and clear examples make the strategies easy for parents to understand and implement right away. This product will be your go-to supplement to teletherapy sessions and/or parent coaching. All pages are provided in full color as well as a low-ink black and white version.

Resources may be shared electronically with your caseload (via email or posted on a password-protected site). Please follow the TPT terms of service and share this product with your caseload only - Professionals need to purchase separate licenses.

Your purchase includes three handouts appropriate for all children under the age of five:

    • Strategies to Encourage Communication: This one-page handout explains 8 different tactics for creating "communication temptations" to elicit more words, gestures, and signs from young children. Language facilitation strategies are appropriate for all children - those who are typically developing as well as those with language delay. Reviewer feedback -- "Love this handout! Gives clear easy ideas for parents to elicit language from their children. Works well for early intervention and has been helpful with teletherapy!"
    • Language and Learning in Everyday Routines: This one-page handout summarizes research related to early language learning and the important of parent-child interactions. After explaining what constitutes a high-quality language interaction, the handout gives ideas for how to practice key language concepts, engage in play and conversation, and model complex language in 8 common settings/routines (e.g., bath time). Reviewer feedback -- "Helpful for planning my teletherapy lessons for early intervention. Good resource for me and parents."
    • Electronic Media Use: The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends ZERO screen time for children below ages 18-24 months - This two-page handout explains the risks of electronic media usage for young children. The handout also contains a list of references for parents who want to learn more. Reviewer feedback -- "I have been searching for a handout like this for YEARS. This will be the perfect conversation starter for the families that I work with... focuses on the facts without passing any judgement."

PLUS two products with specific pages for each age range (birth-one, one-two, two-three, and three-four)

    • Parent Handouts for Feeding: This four-page handout explains how to encourage speech and language development, as well as a timeline of developmental norms and potential red flags for each age range. Reviewer feedback -- "Great resource to send parents to help understand speech and language development."
    • Parent Handouts for Speech and Language: This four-page handout explains what to expect in terms of feeding development in each age range, as well as a timeline of developmental norms and potential red flags.
