    INTRODUCING SCIENCE ACTIVITY BOOK

    Description

Meeting your science standards is a breeze with the SCIENCE FOUNDATIONS ACTIVITY BOOK BUNDLE, a comprehensive set of more than 20 interactive science books that covers the major themes of elementary science—from biomes and food chains to physics and weather—all at a bundle savings of 20%. Each book is based on the NGSS/TEKS Science Standards for Grades 3-5 and includes the following features:

    • Simple definitions and clear text
    • Original real-life illustrations
    • Variety of interactive formats, such as cut-and-glue pictures
    • Review activities to reinforce learning
    • Answer keys for student self-check or teacher use.

    LIFE SCIENCE TITLES:

    • THE ANIMAL KINGDOM introduces inherited traits and how they are used to define eight animal groups.
    • THE PLANT KINGDOM describes the four main classes of plants and includes activities about photosynthesis and plant life cycles. (NOTE: This book is one my free resources, but I’ve included in this bundle so you can have all your books in one file.)
    • BIOMES AND ECOSYSTEMS introduces the world’s biomes with a look at the interactions among living organisms and the physical features of climate, natural resources, and geography. Biomes use a cut-and-glue format to highlight each of the five biomes—aquatic, desert, forest, grassland, and tundra—and twelve ecosystems.
    • ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS introduces the ways animals adapt to survive—through structural adaptations involving the way an organism LOOKS, behavioral adaptations that involve things an organism DOES, and physiological adaptations that involve an organism’s PROCESSES. Adaptations includes two examples of adaptations in each of the five biomes.
    • FOOD CHAINS AND WEBS illustrates how the sun’s energy is passed to producers, consumers, and decomposers, with step-by-step descriptions and three activities—Food Chain Labeling, Decoding a Food Web, and Test Your Word Power—to boost retention.

    EARTH SCIENCE TITLES:

    • EXPLORING CYCLES bridges life and earth science as it highlights three categories of cycles: 1) biogeochemical cycles (Earth/Life Science), such as the Oxygen and Water Cycles, 2) life cycles of animals and plants, and 3) planetary cycles (Earth Science), including the phases of the moon and the changing seasons.
    • GEOLOGY ROCKS! explores the layers of the Earth and crust and provides a detailed look at how sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks are formed.
    • FORECASTING THE WEATHER includes a wide variety of activities highlighting the six factors—temperature, air pressure, wind, humidity, cloud formations, and precipitation—that influence the weather.
    • WATER SOURCES AND CYCLES dives into the world’s most precious resource with a step-by-step look at the water cycle, including sources of water, and also includes student-centered tips on conserving water and preventing pollution.
    • OUR CHANGING EARTH examines the processes and changes in the atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere and the ways that change in one sphere can affect change in another.
    • NATURAL RESOURCES: FOSSIL FUELS explores the formation and uses of coal, oil, and natural gas, contrasts renewable and non-renewable natural resources, and highlights alternative energy sources.
    • NATURAL RESOURCES: REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE focuses on the ways natural resources can be conserved by reducing waste through reusing and recycling materials and products.
    • EARTH AND SPACE introduces students to the forces and movements that govern the solar system and explores the effects of the force of gravity, planetary tilt and rotation, and revolution around the Sun.
    • FIRSTS IN SPACE highlights important people and events—from Copernicus to SpaceX—in the history of space exploration and includes two review activities.

    PHYSCIAL SCIENCE TITLES:

    • STATES OF MATTER uses an engaging cut-and-glue format to introduce 1) the properties of matter, 2) characteristics of solids, liquids, gases, and plasma, and 3) physical vs. chemical changes.
    • FORMS OF ENERGY uses an interactive cut-and-glue format to highlight different forms and uses of kinetic and potential energy, give examples of energy transfer and transformation, and includes three review activities.
    • MAKING WAVES compares and contrasts the characteristics of light and sound waves and includes ear and eye diagrams that illustrate the ways we hear and see waves, plus three review activities.
    • ELECTRICITY uses a wide variety of activities to introduce the three forms of electricity, types of circuits, conductors and insulators, and energy transfer and transformation (conversion).
    • FORCE AND MOTION uses examples from popular sports to explore common forces and Newton’s three Laws of Motion.
    • SIMPLE MACHINES focuses on the six types of simple machines—lever, inclined plane, pulley, screw, wedge, and wheel/axle—and their effects on force and motion, as well as the characteristics of compound machines.
    • OUR MAGNETIC EARTH introduces the properties of magnets and the force of magnetism.

    INTERDISICIPLINARY TITLES:

    • BONUS BOOK-INTRODUCING SCIENCE uses a cut-and-glue format to define the three branches of science—earth, life, and physical—and also includes information about the Scientific Method, PLUS an activity that highlights control, dependent, and independent variables.
    • FAMOUS SCIENTISTS focuses on groundbreaking discoveries that had a worldwide impact.
