This bundle includes the WIDA aligned Speaking and Writing checklist. They are differentiated and includes an editable and a PDF file. The checklists are WIDA aligned and can be used as a rubric.
About the Checklists
The WIDA aligned Speaking and Writing checklists was created to help students understand what is expected when they are speaking with others. The Speaking checklists have three dimensions (parts) and six proficiency levels (1-Entering, 2-Emerging, 3-Developing, 4-Expanding, 5-Bridging, and 6-Reaching). The Writing checklists have three dimensions (parts) and three proficiency levels (4-Expanding, 5-Bridging, and 6-Reaching)
There are many ways that you can use the WIDA aligned Speaking and Writing checklists. Below are a few suggestions:
Student Self Assessments – After an assignment, students can use the speaking checklist to evaluate themselves.
Peer Review – Students can review peers with the checklists during speaking assignments, presentations, readers theater, and any assignment that involves talking.
Informal Assessments – While students are doing group work and/or talk time, teachers can circulate and use the speaking checklists to assess the students.
