Spanish language support is provided on every page to help students understand directions and make connections between the two languages.

1) Newcomer Basics for Spanish Speakers Packet

This is a collection of guided worksheets that teach students how to greet others, ask basic questions, and introduce themselves in English. Each page gives directions and examples in English and Spanish to support the student at each step. (16 pages)

2) Writing Basics for Spanish Speaking Newcomers Packet

This packet gets newcomers writing in English from the very first assignment! It includes five assignments overall, each with a themed vocabulary list, structured examples, and writing frames to help students successfully write a full paragraph in English on different personal topics. All directions and examples are explained in English and Spanish. (40 pages)

3) English Alphabet and Primary Letter Sounds for Spanish Speaking Newcomers

A support packet containing flashcards and posters for each English letter featuring Spanish cognates that share the same sound so students can make immediate connections between the languages. Differences between certain letter sounds are explained in English and Spanish and word lists and fluency paragraphs are provided for more advanced students. (100+ pages - includes poster sets with different size options)
