Description

Looking for a fun and interactive test prep activity? ROCK THE TEST ESCAPE ROOM is for you! Kids will use teamwork and a helpful (editable) test tip booklet, in addition to reading, writing, and problem solving skills. All you will have to do is watch and enjoy the activity. :)

The adventure begins when YOU, the most awesome teacher in the history of the world, get your class free tickets to a rock concert. The only obstacle is that The Puzzle-Makers like their fans to figure out key details of the concert. So your kids will use the provided test tip booklet to fill in the missing ticket information.

Kids will be "working" but they'll be having so much fun that they won't even realize how much they are learning!

ELA ESCAPE ROOM GROWING BUNDLE: A YEAR OF ESCAPES

==WHICH SKILLS ARE COVERED?==

The Test Tip Booklet includes the following:

- "power" words commonly used on tests

- multiple choice tips

- writing recommendations for short and extended responses

-==WHAT IS INCLUDED IN ROCK THE TEST ESCAPE ROOM?==

♦ A rock and roll (optional) video introduction to set the scene and start the fun

♦ At-a-glance instructions for EASY set-up and organization.

♦ An instructional reference booklet on TEST TIPS that students can use LONG after they have escaped! My kids use one like this ALL YEAR LONG! ;)

♦ A reading selection that highlights the importance of persistence when chasing goals. This passage tells the story of actor/director Sylvester Stallone, who failed many times before finding success. Students will match questions with supporting details, while learning about growth mindset.

♦ A multiple choice task that includes questions directly about the test tips provided.

♦ A proofreading task that includes common errors kids make.

♦ A creative writing "open mic" task that requires kids to share their own personal testing tips.

♦ A word search for early finishers.

♦ FUN codes and puzzles!

♦ At-a-glance answers.

♦ An exit slip.

♦ Photo props and awards to celebrate a successful escape!

♦ An editable version of the test booklet so that you can add your own tips and tricks.

=======WHAT DO I HAVE TO SUPPLY?=======

All that is needed is a printer, a few folders, and scissors. Unlike other breakout activities, you don't have to go out and buy expensive locks and boxes, because we've included everything you need to print and go!

=======WHAT MAKES THIS SPECIAL?=======

The storyline is interactive and immersive. YOUR students are directly involved in the story. It will provide you with a perfect opportunity to observe your students problem solving and working as a team. All of our escape resources are also great to use for an observation!

=======HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?=======

Completing the entire escape will probably take about 40-50 minutes, depending on how quickly the class is able to complete the activities. Students will not have to leave the room. This is NOT a scavenger hunt.

Have fun and be sure to come back for more ESCAPE ROOM challenges!
