What educators are saying

Fantastic resources. I was able to teach almost all of these lessons and the students were very engaged and completely loved the activities. I loved the diversification of each lesson and that their were differentiated worksheets.
I used it with my AP Lit class after they took the AP exam. It was great! I had fun, and so did they while it still engaged their critical thinking. Specifically, I used the found poetry lesson so far.

    Description

Get ready for an immersive learning experience that blends the power of language and artistry perfect for AP Art or AP ELA classes. These transformative lessons will empower students to delve into their inner selves, express their beliefs, and foster introspection. Found Poetry (Traditional and Digital)

In this project, students will embark on the creation of a captivating found poem, where they will repurpose words from a book page to evoke powerful emotions.

Students will create a visual that corresponds with the central theme of the poem. This activity encourages students to engage with literature in a unique and transformative way, inviting them to explore the poetic potential within existing texts and imagery.

    Mixed Media from Memory

Students will unleash their creativity by producing a mixed media artwork inspired by their self-penned poem, utilizing the renowned "Where I'm From" template.

This lesson will empower students to communicate profound ideas through imagery. Brace yourselves for a thought-provoking adventure, as these lessons require advanced cognitive skills and will provide students with a fundamental grasp of artistic communication.

    Literary Terms Poster

Students will also engage in the creation of a literacy vocabulary poster using the user-friendly design tool, Canva. This task aims to reinforce their understanding of essential language arts terms while fostering their visual communication skills. By combining words, images, and vibrant graphics, students will craft a captivating poster that not only enhances their literacy skills but also showcases their creativity. Through this hands-on approach, students will deepen their comprehension of key concepts and develop a keen eye for visually impactful communication.
