Description

The goal of this resource is to help you cut down the time it takes to plan your ELA units and free you up to focus on the more personalized planning you want to do! This document, for each category of reading (lit. and inf.) and writing (lit., inf., and argumentative), gives a list of skills students should have and a list of big ideas they should understand at the end of the year, all according to the common core ELA standards (using my standards unpacking resource). (Background knowledge skills/ideas are also included and marked.) The lists are also divided into larger categories to make it easier to build units. Having this comprehensive list of skills and concepts allows you to easily see what to focus on and arrange the pieces however works best for your classroom.
