What educators are saying

This is so easy to make and print for my students. It helps keep them on task with what they need to accomplish in centers during the week. They can easily see if they are able to move on to may dos and I can quickly check in on them throughout the week to see what they have finished.
Once I transitioned my reading centers into this must do/can do type chart, my students had way more buy in! I love how easy it is to edit and print. Thank you!

Description

Must Do May Do Chart- Editable to fit your needs. Great for early finishers and helpful to keep centers running smoothly. Give students tasks they must do and tasks they can choose to do. Put an end to small group interruptions and students wondering what they should be working on!

This resources includes:

-1 Editable Must Do May Do Chart

-a teacher guide with explanation of how I use this resource in my classroom

-an example chart used for one of my reading groups

Giving students choices and holding them accountable for completing important work is essential to successful centers and a smooth-running classroom. By giving due dates and clearly spelling out the assignments students MUST do while also providing activities that they MAY do, your students will be motivated to complete their work and be productive.

I loved the results of using this Must Do May Do chart after just one day. I was blown away by the engagement of my students and their motivation to get their work done.

Also great to use for substitutes, weekly homework assignments, chunking larger assignments into digestible bites. Plus it works with any subject!

Be strategic in your selection of must do's and may do's. It's easy to incorporate ALL of your centers into this chart, whether they are a must do OR a may do. Sometimes we just want our students to practice a skill they worked on the week before, or reinforce a concept they might be shaky on.... Must Do's and May Do's provide the chance for students to do it all!

Use these templates week after week. Just edit the directions to fit your needs, or use my template if you'd like! Feel free to email me with any questions you may have createinspireteach@gmail.com
