Description
This is the scope and sequence template that I've used to plan my ELA classes for the past four years and it has served me well, so I figured it might help other teachers too!
Included is:
- A two page, editable Google Doc scope and sequence for secondary ELA classes
- A five page sample of a completed scope and sequence for a 10th grade ELA class that I actually taught, which can be used as a model for your own planning purposes
- A curriculum audit to ensure that your anticipated scope and sequence includes a variety of perspectives and a diversity of voices.
I've used it for regular ELA classes, honors, AP, and everything in-between. I'm also a big fan of hyperlinking EVERYTHING, so you have a sort of master doc that includes whatever materials and documents you'd need for the upcoming year.
In addition, since it's a Google Doc, it's easily editable and shareable which means you can use it to co-plan, solicit and integrate feedback from team-members, and seamlessly post it to Google Classroom to act as a sort of guidepost for students to follow along throughout the year.
