ECR Writing If...Then
- PDF
Description
You have taught your students how to write ECR essays, they have practiced ECR essays, and now you are wondering where to go next.
This resource is designed to help you narrow your instructional focus in order to help students get the most points possible on their STAAR ECRs.
Although this resource was orignially designed to be used between a district/campus STAAR Benchmark (usually administered in February/March) and the actual STAAR Assessment in April, teachers are finding it helpful as a tool to assist with ECR small group instruction/intervention at any time of year.
Once your students’ Benchmark ECRs are scored, sort essays by score, answer the questions on the question sheets, and the go to the
instructional recommendation pages for an instructional starting point/ideas on where to go next. While goal setting is specifically addressed for those scoring 7 or higher, it is highly recommended at all score ranges.
