These festive, full-sized, 0-30 tens frames cards are a motivating way to practice subitizing, or instantly recognizing quantities. Flash the frames in random order and ask for the number of objects or how many is one more, one less, double, double plus one more, or half of the amount they see!!

Flashing ten frames prepares students to solve derived facts by creating "ten facts" from 8's and 9's, adding doubles and neighbors, finding multiples of ten more and ten less, and much more!! Using ten frames is a great visual tool to help prepare students for understanding place value.
