Description

This resource is for educators teaching about drugs and their effects on the human body.

It focuses on key concepts like what a drug is, examples of medicinal drugs and how harmful drugs damage cells. It also discusses how each drug functions and the effects on specific organs and long-term effects.

Throughout the lesson you will find short activities and questions the students can complete to keep them thinking and engaged.

The resource focuses on the following drugs:

Antibiotics and how they work

Heroin and brain function

Alcohol

Anabolic Steroids

Tobacco Smoking

At the end is a summary activity as well 8 task cards.

The task cards include questions on effect of carbon monoxide, lung cancer, Emphysema, antibiotic resistance and definitions, to name a few...

I loved using this resource when I taught Drugs to my GCSE Biology class.

I hope you will enjoy it too!
