What educators are saying

This was a wonderful addition to my URR unit with my Gifted Students. They were engaged and it held their attention for the entirety of the project! I look forward to using it again next year! Thank you!
I love all of the Reading Through History works. The author put in a lot of work and the information and questions are wonderful.

Description

Made with Black History Month in mind, this unit covers the monumental Dred Scott Decision, the internal operations of the Underground Railroad, and the typical day-to-day life of an American slave. The download includes enough material for three days of a history or a reading class. The file includes three reading activities, three sets of multiple choice reading comprehension questions, three student response essay questions, guided reading activities, and Common Core questions geared toward the 4th and 5th-grade reading objectives.
