Description

Looking for an engaging assignment to practice the double angle and half angle identity formulas? These self-checking partner worksheets will have students use the double angle and half angle identities to find the value of an angle. This assignment also encourages students to work collaboratively, engage in discussion, and check their work. Assign this activity with no prep from you, and watch as your students receive immediate feedback while they practice their skills!

How it works:

  • Assign students a partner and have them choose who will complete column A and column B
  • Students will work on their own unique problems, and compare their answers with their partner. If the solutions are the same, they are correct and may move on. If they disagree, have them trade papers and check each other’s work.


Content features:

Version A

  • Students will be given the value of a trig function of θ in a certain quadrant
  • Students will have to solve for either sin2θ, cos2θ or tan2θ

Version B

  • Students will be given the value of a trig function of θ in a certain quadrant
  • Students will have to solve for sin θ/2, cos θ/2, tan θ/2
