Doggie Doggie: This folk song is perfect for teaching ta/titi and la in the Kodaly inspired elementary music room. Click on the preview for more page images.

Great for:
-practice steady beat
-practice rhythm as the way the words go (long/short)
-prepare, present and practice ta / titi
-prepare, present, practice "la"
Beat/Rhythm Slides:
-lyrics
- beat icons
-steady beat (heart beats)
-rhythm icons
-presentation slides for ta and titi using both stick and standard notation
-practice slides for reading new rhythm (both in stick and standard notation)
Melodic Slides
-icons for melody with lyrics
- A new note is moving onto Solfa Street. Is it higher or lower than sol and mi?
-icons for melody with la as ?
-presentation slides for la (names new now, shows it on Solfa Street, shows hand sign)

Printable manipulatives and worksheets:
- Cut and place (or paste) the melody of the song. You can have students do this individually or have everything pre-cut and laminated and use as a center. (la practice)
- (Worksheet) The melody for the song is all mixed up! Draw a line from the melodic phrases to show what comes 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
- Student tone ladders with and without solfa on them (5 to a page)
