Diwali Write the Room Count the Room

A great way to learn about and celebrate Diwali in your classroom! Three activities in one resource are included in this Diwali themed literacy and math centre. You can choose to use Write the Room, Count the Room or a *NEW* combined Write AND Count the room. 10 picture cards are included for EACH activity based on the theme. Students will love searching for the task cards and writing down their answers!

In this PDF resource, you will get all you need for students to participate in this activity. Only thing you need to do is print, laminate (optional), cut the cards and post them around the room for students to find (and print the matching activity page!). Activity page comes with plain lines or traceable font with the answer AND in black and white OR colour! Making this a great activity to differentiate for your classroom needs.  

**Please note: it is recommended that this is not used as a stand alone way to celebrate Diwali in your classroom. A couple of the images/words are symbols that are important to the celebration and you should be incorporating read alouds and non-fiction texts/discussions around the holiday so the students can understand why a broom or footprints or laddu (and more) are part of the pictures they are searching for!**

There are 10 themed pictures for students to find, in three different formats:

1. A picture with the word below it (Write the Room)
2. In a number array (Count the Room)
3. In a number array PLUS the word below it (Write AND Count the Room)
