What educators are saying

This was perfect in aiding teaching about a new holiday to some, and a much celebrated holiday to others. All students were engaged and interested in learning about Diwali
Great resource for my kindergarten students. It was used in class and was well received by students and parents.

Description

Looking for a meaningful resource that will explain and provide some basic information about Holidays students otherwise might not know much about?

Diwali is a Hindu New Year celebration and it is celebrated in October/November. This reader is perfect for Kindergarten and First Graders!

It is 10 pages and both the backline & the color version are included! Teachers can use the color version to project whole group and read aloud, while students use the blackline to reread, color and take home to share with their families!

This reader is a great way to expose students to a holiday/culture that may or may not be represented in their own classroom ...& compare it to their own traditions! The last page provides an opportunity for students to draw (or write) about how they celebrate a new year - finding any similarities to the text/information they learned about Diwali.
