NOW INCLUDES GOOGLE SLIDES VERSION FOR DISTANCE LEARNING & MICROSOFT WORD VERSION

This download contains 134 pages of handouts, activities, exercises, and detailed answer key for guided close reading of the young adult dystopian novel "Divergent" by Veronica Roth.

This IS included in my Divergent Novel Unit.

Contents of download:

-introduction to the author and story reading passages with questions;

-close-reading questions covering all 39 chapters;

-reading assessments;

-language/vocabulary-in-context exercises, with figurative language practice, word connotations, author's word choice, etc.;

-character organizers;

-and Common Core reading graphic organizers that focus on characterization, themes, text connections, and plot development (with differentiated exercises for parallel plots).

The zipped folder contains three PDF documents: one student copy and one teacher copy of the activities and one link to the Google Slides version. It also includes two Microsoft Word (.docx) files (one for the questions, one for vocabulary) that can be customized, used in a 1:1 setting (upload to Google Docs/Drive/Classroom), etc. Because of copyright restrictions, the images and clip art in the PDF files must remain secured, therefore the Word documents do not include the artwork and are *paper saver* editions. However, the Google Slides version DOES include the images and artwork.
