Original Description:
This product is available in my Grade 6 Social Studies BUNDLE
This assignment was one of my favourite assignments to do with my kids all year because it taught me so much about their families and their background.
The assignment is structured as a take-home interview question sheet. Students are to interview someone in their family that came to Canada as an immigrant. If students do not wish to select someone in their family, they may research an immigrant story online (website provided).
I found it best to share their work in a community circle and choose 4-5 students to share a day.
I also found this assignment made it really easy to take anecdotal notes while students were presenting, and it made it super easy to personalize their report card comments!
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to message me.
Thank you!
