Description

Teach special education IEP goals while taking a virtual tour around Disneyland? Yes! I’ve created this 3 month unit to engage even the most reluctant learners! By focusing on teaching functional life skills with real life situations, the lessons in this unit can be generalized to daily life outside the park. This 98 page unit uses one problem per day to teach a different skill, including the main academic areas of reading, writing, and math. Every page includes real pictures from the park to grab the attention of your students, and engage students who might not otherwise participate.

The lessons are themed by day, such as: Money Monday, Time Tuesday, Writing Wednesday, Reading Thursday, Fun Friday (You get to buy more stuff and maintain a budget!). The lessons are left unlabeled, so that students who oppose a certain subject do not turn away when they see a work like “Reading”, but is done to help the teacher know what each day focuses on.

The unit works on the following IEP goals. Each goal is connected to the theme of that specific day of the week. Each day has one problem to complete, so depending on the level your students are at, this may be a warm-up, or last much longer. Please read all descriptions and download the preview prior to purchasing to see if this unit is appropriate for your students :)
