What educators are saying

My students are studying discrete math and one of our units covers voting methods. Students are enjoying and learning about voting in an election year.

Description

This unit explores the mathematics behind 5 Voting Methods. The unit includes Majority, Plurality, Borda Count, Pairwise Comparison, and Plurality with Elimination voting methods. Notes, activities, practice, and assessments included! The material is written on a level for students in grades 6 to 12, but can also be used in higher level mathematics. Voting methods are often taught in a Discrete Mathematics curriculum, but this is a great enrichment activity for middle and high school students. The material allows for cross-curricular instruction and a high interest level for students. The material was created for my own classroom, since there were not many (or any) resources out there for teachers to use. The work is now done for you! Download and begin! Keys are included.
