Description
This bundle includes over 1000 First Grade and Second Grade math and phonics task cards for practice through the year using the "Directed Drawing for Math and Phonics" original design. It's simple to play, and covers a whole year of first grade and second grade math and phonics topics!
It's super simple to play! Students write the question and answer on the recording page (see photos), then check the answer on back of each card. If correct, students get to add one detail to their directed drawing template.
Pictures turn out different each time, and there are tons of drawing templates to choose from.
Super engaging, fun with partners, and an easy way to practice core skills as warm up activities, during small groups, in your sub plans, or even as home practice with parents! Also perfect for early finishers and centers as students become independent quickly.
This also works well as a partner game where students complete a picture collaboratively. Meaningful discussion of math or phonics occurs as students deliberate their answers.
All three sets use the same format and premise, so you won't have to introduce different concepts. The only thing that changes is the topic of each card, whether it's math questions, or decoding phonics words or sentences!
WHAT IS IT?
This is FUN and simple activity to use all year in your literacy and math centers, skills practice time, or small group lessons! You just need any of the sets of sentence cards and a drawing template, and it can be played with a partner or alone. The cards and template can be laminated and used over and over with dry erase markers, or simply printed for drawing on as is.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Use any of the task cards sets in this comprehensive collection. I introduce a new set each week with our instruction to reinforce lessons. Each set of sentences contain words for a particular phonics or math or phonics topic. You can see more complete lists of topics in the preview of each set.
WHAT'S IN EACH SET?
There are several different directed drawing templates which can be used with ANY of the task cards. Add a new one each week to ensure that students are always engaged as they work through different phonics topics. My students look forward to a different picture to draw each week!

Early Finishers
What about early finishers?
Students can immediately start another picture with more of their task cards. If you're using dry erase markers, students can simply erase and start again. If you're using paper copies, have lots of blank copies available.
WRITING EXTENSION
Students LOVE writing about their drawings! Pictures can be glued into writing journals so students can write a story about their creations!
