Description

This Dinosaur themed performance package can be used by an elementary classroom teacher, a music teacher, a summer camp coordinator, a vacation bible school, or a drama program instructor.

The show is features many facts about dinosaurs and dinosaur times punctuated by dinosaur themed songs and dances. The songs are set to familiar tunes and the dances get kids moving and grooving!

This show was originally written for 5 Kindergarten classes of 20 students. However this show could easily be performed by less or more students depending on your class/classes and your stage. It would work best with Pre-K through 3rd grade students. I used a combination of pre-recorded audio and live on stage performance. However, the “Speaker Parts” could easily be performed live if you choose.

Some grouping options are:

One class (25 students) split into 5 class groups

Five classes each taking a class group

Six to ten classes with two classes in some class groups

Each of the 5 “classes” dresses as a different type of dinosaur- (faces not covered). At my school the classroom teachers helped students make their various dinosaur costumes so they could take them home after the show.

The speaker parts in this show can be pre-recorded clips of the students reading/reciting the facts with expression, dramatic pauses and flair (as well as fun kid made sound effects!). During the show I played the audio parts while the curtains were closed. This allowed time for the various class groups to get into position for the next live performance.

This script is simple and versatile. It can be used year after year in different ways…

- Make a single class movie. (25- 30 students) Record students speaking, singing and dancing in short video clips, then use a video editing program to put all of the clips together with transitions.

- Use this script as a grade level performance with different classes participating. You can record the student speaking parts as audio (or video) and play the recordings as classes transition to and from the stage for their featured live song performances.

-This script could be used as a completely live performance as well.

The speaking parts are varied and can work for any size class. If you have fewer than 26 students – combine some of the short parts. If you have more than 26 students, a few of the longer parts could be spoken by two students. Even your ESOL, special needs and super shy students can usually be convinced to “speak” one short easy sentence!

This product contains the entire script, song lyrics, dance music recommendations and links, printable participation certificates, various tools for organization and posting, ideas for costumes and show management!!!
