Looking for word work activities that are perfect for introducing or reviewing the digraphs CH, PH, SH, TH, and WH? These centers were designed with differentiation in mind and are ready for an array of levels in the general education or special education classroom.

For many years, I struggled to find word work activities that my special education students could complete independently. These centers were designed to do exactly that.

However, I soon discovered that they were also useful in my small groups to introduce new phonemes and create teacher-led games.

These pictures cards can be used over and over throughout the school year to help you easily implement a spiral review. Plus, they can be used with any curriculum, because you are focusing on the decoding skill rather than a spelling list.

In this product, you'll get four centers:

• Stretch the Word: Students use word cards that demonstrate how to stretch the word accurately.
• Write the Word: Students must use their letter-sound knowledge to match picture cards with the written word.
• Sort It: At this center, students will work to decode and sort words into the correct categories.
• Write the Room: This a favorite of many of my students. Students search for hidden words throughout the room and record them on their recording sheet.
