Description
Learning to read and write words with digraphs can be so much fun with this print and go partner game! With just a few simple supplies, you can help your students learn phonics while playing a classic game. This game is perfect for young learners, and it is a great way to help them read, write, and blend words. The best part is that there is no prep work required - just print and play!
Directions:
Partner students up in a way that best fits your classroom needs. Each student will need one colored pencil/crayon (make sure partners get different colors). Each player will need a recording sheet, but partners will share one game sheet.
Partners will take turns drawing lines, connecting 2 dots each time (vertical or horizontal- no diagonal). Whoever finishes the 4th line of a box will color in the word with their color. The goal is to make as many boxes as possible, while limiting the number of boxes your partner gets. The player with the most boxes wins!
Students will track the words they color on their recording sheet. (Students may fill all boxes before the game is over, or they may not fill all the boxes. That’s ok!)
