    Description

    If you're looking for a way to help your students develop reading comprehension skills, look no further than these DIGITAL informational close reading passages. The passages are designed to be engaging and fun while also teaching key reading comprehension skills. The focus is on text features, main idea/details, making inferences, drawing conclusions, and vocabulary. And to top it off, the passages cover some of kids' favorite topics - like spiders, bats, apples, amphibians, insects, weather, popcorn, ice cream, holidays, and more!

    *Each unit is a little different. The winter passages are self grading multiple choice. The spring passages are open ended questions.

    Grades 2-3

    These high interest passages were created using the informational reading standards. Students are asked to determine the main idea, find evidence that supports the main idea, use context clues to determine the meaning of various words, create subheadings or discover the importance of the subheadings given, find reasons to support various points given by the author, explain the importance of the diagram or words in bold, and make inferences.
