Digital Personal Word Wall and Making Words with Long and Short Vowels Bundle

This bundle includes Digital Making Words Mats and a Digital Personal Word Folder that are great for distance learning. The Personal Word Wall is an amazing resource to help students with their spelling and writing. The Making Words Mats allow students to practice blending onsets and rhymes for long and short vowel word families. Both resources have digital versions in Google Slides and printable PDF versions.

Making Word Mats: Digital and Print

Digital Making Words Mats are a great way for your students to practice blending onsets and rimes to make real and nonsense words. There are three different mats for blending: beginning consonants, beginning blends, and beginning digraphs/trigraphs. Each set of mats has moveable short or long vowel word families to blend with. You may choose to use these mats to model blending onset and rimes for your students, use at the beginning of a spelling unit to help your students brainstorm words, or just as blending practice in a digital phonics/word study center. There are many possibilities to use these making words mats to help your students to blend beginning consonants, blends, and digraphs with short and long vowel word families!

The mats are made in Google Slides. You will see that there are moveable word families on each slide. Choose one and move it through the beginning sounds to make real or nonsense words and then type them in the chart. There are also blank colored squares in the margin where you can add in your own word families. The Google Slides should be shared with your students through Google Classroom.

Personal Word Wall: Digital and Print

This personal word wall folder is the perfect spelling resource for your students to use while writing. I love how this folder gives students an easy way to help themselves with their spelling. It will help to alleviate the, “How do I spell…?.”
