Digital Geography Atlas with Google Maps

Many social studies teachers start their year with teaching or reviewing geography through Powerpoints and activities in which students read and draw maps. Shortly after teachers move on to other important information and geography falls by the wayside of instruction. Technological alternatives to the standard text based map reading can make geography a constructive tool that learners can utilize throughout the year.

This project contains instructions for using all of the features of Google Atlas and two individual lessons to track famous journeys and connecting history with landmarks all over the world
