What educators are saying

This resource was a great supplement to my Cells unit in my Modern Classroom Model Unit. Used the notes as guided notes with my video and students were then able to conduct an experiment independently following the lesson. Very helpful!
I used this in my alternate ed program and it was very comprehensive. The sketch note ad CERs are a great way to solidify student understanding. Thanks!

Description

Are you looking for fun activities for teaching osmosis and diffusion? One page of diffusion and osmosis notes packs in information and allows students to be creative. The lab activities are easy and fun, offer hands-on examples of osmosis and diffusion, and simply involve a gummy worm lab (or use gummy bears or other gummy candy) and tea bags.

Save 10% by purchasing the diffusion and osmosis bundle.

Click the PREVIEW to see what is included in this ready-to-use resource.

These sketch notes cover diffusion and osmosis and include simple lab activities to demonstrate a concept that can be challenging. The diffusion activity involves putting a tea bag in water and observing. The osmosis activity involves a gummy worm lab (or use gummy bears or other gummy candy) where the gummy is placed in water and observed. Recording observations is part of these diffusion and osmosis notes. These lab activities can be done as a whole class or in table groups. Items can be often purchased at a dollar store.

This diffusion and osmosis lesson plan also includes three CER worksheet options with sample answer keys and a rubric along with a printable and digital (Google Forms) self-grading quiz.

This is one page of notes with two options included. I like to cover diffusion and osmosis when covering parts of a cell with NGSS MS-LS1-2. One version of these notes includes a small section on the cell membrane. This resource is for the 6th grade science NGSS classroom.
