What educators are saying

I love this dictation paper!! Easy for students to write on. It is just what I was looking for to go with our Orton Gillingham dictation.

Description

Are you looking for a dictation printable with visual cues and a checklist for your students to help with sentence writing and structure? This is exactly why I created this resource - this resource has visual prompts to remind writers to start sentences with a capital letter, use finger spaces between words, double check the spelling of heart words, as well as a reminder to check for punctuation.

The editing checklist and visual prompts include:

  • Example sentence with proper sentence mechanics to help students.
  • Mountain at the start of each sentence to remind students to use a tall capital letter to start their sentence! Match the mountain!
  • Finger spaces between words.
  • Heart Words (double-check that they are spelled correctly!)
  • Punctuation.

HOW TO USE:

  • Dictate a sentence to students.
  • Students write the sentences and use cues and checklists to check their sentence structure.
  • I have students go back and underline their capital letter at the start, underline their punctuation, and mark heart words with a little heart. When they have checked all of the cues at the bottom of the worksheet, they can put a check mark at the end of their sentence.

BOTH templates include PRIMARY WRITING LINES! The primary writing lines are fantastic in encouraging proper letter formation and penmanship.
