Design an Alebrije - Spanish Reading Comprehension and Writing Project

Review Spanish colors, body parts, and high frequency verbs such as tener and ser with this fun Alebrijes Project! This multi-day project is perfect to conclude a unit on Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos), or after watching the movie Coco!

Students will take a personality & favorites questionnaire to discover “What’s your alebrije look like?”. They will then draw their alebrije according to their results, and write a paragraph to describe their alebrije!

This project incorporates 2 skills: Interpretive Reading as well as Presentational Writing & includes bonus ideas for the teacher of how to incorporate Interpretive Listening & Interpersonal Communication once their projects are completed!

This Alebrijes Project Includes:

✅3 Detailed Pages with Instructions for:

 -How to Use

- What to Print for Students & what can be posted in Google Classroom

- A Standards-Based Grading rubric sample with explanation for the teacher

- Ways to Extend and “circle” the vocabulary (incorporating more Listening, Speaking, and Writing opportunities)

✅Printouts include options with instructions only in Spanish, or both Spanish & English
