Design-A-Playground (Area, Perimeter, Regular, and Irregular shapes)

Are you looking for a way to make teaching area and perimeter more engaging? This product allows students to use their creativity while still learning the essential skills. Students are asked to design their own playground using both regular and irregular shapes. They will then have to find the area and perimeter of each part of their playground, as well as the playground as a whole. I would encourage students to think of things they would like in a playground. Some of my students went as far as adding trampolines, video game buildings, and even a teacher spa area. Let their imaginations run wild! There are bonus suggestions to make the lesson even more meaningful for your students. To grade, a rubric is ready to go! Enjoy :)
