EACH UNIT CONTAINS: 1 Week Long Unit - 5 Lessons

This weeklong unit was designed to introduce primary aged students to the one depth and complexity icon through mentor texts. It is great for whole group lessons, small group extensions, and independent practice.

Each unit has:

• One full week of lesson plans
• Activities and extensions
• Suggested mentor texts (fiction and non-fiction)
• Unit completion badges

NOTE: I have used this with students in grades K-3 - differentiating at the level of each students needs. Sometimes I have used it as prompting questions for myself, other times it is independent practice for students. The range of the resource used will vary greatly on the students ability for independence. Regardless, the units allow for deeper thinking through D&C with any mentor text!
