December holidays around the world - a lesson for English learners in middle and high school.

The focus of this lesson is vocabulary formation (suffixes that transform words into a different part of speech), reading comprehension and speaking. Students will be collaborating with partners to create a joint presentation about a December holiday.

This is a Google Drive file that you will receive a copy of. The lesson itself is a Google Slides presentation.

The lesson includes:

a slide with the Common Core Standards and WIDA standards
A slide with the objectives for the lesson
A slide with teacher notes
Slides with word formation tables and practice
Reading passages with labeled images as scaffolds
Slides with instructions for the presentation
a blank slide for you to add your own instructions as needed
