This is a set of 144 writing prompt cards! There are 72 debate topics, each with two sides (A and B). These prompts are in debate-style and can be used for oral debates as well as persuasive writing or written debates. With 72 topics in total, there's a huge variety. This set includes ideas that are silly, thought-provoking, and everything in between! A great way to get students engaged and enjoying writing.

Ideas for using Would You Rather...? Prompt Cards:
• Class/group oral debates –Give each side a topic and a card (A for one side, B for the other) and have them debate
• Written "debates" –Give each student a card and have them write their argument. Have them switch (anonymously or not) with the other side of their topic. Then, have them write a rebuttal or summary about how they feel about their side.
• Have students do speed round debates and vote on “winning” sides
• Have students use the topics for research/persuasive writing projects
