Description

One of the best ways to help students become engaged and informed on the current issues of the day is by watching the most recent political debates. Whether it be a general election, primary race, gubernatorial race, senate, or even a presidential race, students love hearing the arguments and debate between the candidates. I have used this format for years and it is a proven way to help my students follow along with the issues of the day. Students get to hear how candidates have such differing views on the same topic, as well as learn how to better communicate one's own beliefs. The great thing about debates is that they are different every season, and most of them can be accessed for free on YouTube or any other news outlet.
