What educators are saying

Excellent resource. I have students who have to self-study a language, and I do not know ASL, so this was perfect for me. Various topics helped my students dig deeper into the deaf culture. Thank you.

Description

Project Based Learning: these PowerSchool Wikiproject outlines and slide presentation themes are an engaging way for the ASL teacher to enhance classroom learning and student’s awareness of Deaf culture. Project themes represent various points of interest in the ASL and Deaf community.

Project activities allows teacher flexibility: research themes can be built as PowerSchool Wikiprojects or developed as slideshow presentations; students can all work together on one single theme, or teachers can assign topics for students to work on: solo or in pairs.

My ASL students have completed these projects in both wiki and as slides. Options they have used for slideshow software include PowerPoint, Google slides, and Prezi. If you have an account with PowerSchool, Wikiprojects allows students to interact with lesson material by building content blocks. With wiki, teachers can assign projects to be completed as a whole class, small group, or individually.

These activities are ONLINE LEARNING FRIENDLY.

Download includes:

- 8 project theme printables (comprehensive presentation directions for both PowerSchool Wikiprojects and slide presentations).

- Grading Rubrics printables (one for wiki, one for slides).
