Dead Poets Society Study Guide - Active Learning Tasks Bundle

This bundle of learning tasks is designed to reinforce and stimulate learning through activity. It is a set of ready-to-go worksheets/resources for use with the movie Dead Poets Society. The inclusion of different types of activities is a ploy to appeal to students' different learning styles.

The resources included are

• Viewing Questions with Answers. Use the questions to check understanding, and to get students thinking about character and action.

• Plot Summary as Cloze Test(s). Use this to ensure students have a good grasp of the plot, or to help weaker students make their own summaries of the action.

• 50 Question Multiple Choice Quiz / Assessment. This could be used to keep students focused while viewing the film, or as a final assessment.

• Character - Name Matching Exercise. Use this to ensure students can name all the important characters.

• Review Crossword Puzzle. A good activity with which to conclude your viewing of the movie.

• Vocabulary Crossword Puzzle 1 UK Spelling. This checks that students are familiar with important words from the first half of the film.

• Vocabulary Crossword Puzzle 1 US Spelling. As above, but using American spelling in this version.

• Vocabulary Crossword Puzzle 2. Keywords from the second half of the film.
