What educators are saying

I used this activity as a tie in to "The Graveyard Book". My students LOVED the music and drawing an image based on the music. Great resource.

Description

This PowerPoint show is great to go with your recording of Camille Saint-Saens' "Danse Macabre". It gives a little bit of background information of the story line behind this tone poem. Offers an illustrated version of the poem that inspired the music. Includes listening clues to help focus listening and offer extra music tidbits on instrument families and more. The idea is for the class to draw a picture of the story while they are listening to the music. There is a review slide with 2 discussion questions to assess your students or go a little deeper into the topic. The last two slides are my artistic interpretation of the music using the "Paint" software and notes to the teacher. (NOTE: If the slides don't look right when you download it, please message me.)
