FYI:

If you have never collected data digitally before, or you struggle with how to gather your data in one place, you are off to a great start for this area in your teaching practice. A lot of teachers collect data with no purpose. They never go back and look at it or they don’t organize the data and it serves no purpose later. TEACHERS SHOULD BE COLLECTING DATA! And of course, not JUST to collect data; we must use it to INFORM our instruction. This is the evidence you need to provide your administration about how you group your students and how you differentiate.

Data Needed:

With the Digital Summative Assessment Tracker, you will collect data from student’s major assessments, which are the pre and post tests data, mid-year midterms, and the end of the year final exam (if you give one). Pre and Post tests are the exams you give before you start the unit and the exam you give after the unit. You can of course add columns for Performance Tasks or other items you consider Summative Data. This tracker currently includes 20 conditionally formatted (color-coded) UNITS of space to enter data.

Google Drive Compatible:

Just a heads up, this is a real digital tracker, created using Google Sheets, not Google Slides. If you are not familiar with Google Sheets or Excel and don’t know much about spreadsheets, don’t let this scare you away. You will actually be quite impressed by how easy it is to use; you are only entering in percentages! The cells color-code automatically and calculate for you (in the Yearlong tab).

How to Use:

All of the directions for how to use this file are in the spreadsheet on the first tab. When you download this file, you will notice 14 tabs plus instructions. The first one is a page full of directions. Read them carefully as this is a large file and a lack of excel knowledge can lead to confusion about how to use the product. Why You Will Love It: This file has taken some time to create! But it has made my life so much easier! You are LITERALLY just inputting scores (as percents)!I am a Special Education and Math Teacher and I got tired of all the paper! So almost everything I create now is digital, including this file.
