Description

This project gives student's the opportunity to get creative and display their knowledge on different types of play and daycare structures to create their own personalized daycare. I use this project in my Child Development course during the Ages 1-3 unit.

What's Included?

1. Child Care, Early Education & The Importance of Play Google Slideshow (27 slides)

  • Covers the following topics:
    • Different types of daycare centers
    • How to tell if a child is doing well in daycare
    • The benefits of play on all areas of development
    • The importance of play
    • Different types of play

2. Create Your Own Daycare Center Rubric

  • The rubric includes specifications on:
    • permanent structures
    • non-permanent structures
    • learning centers (that are based on the different types of play)
    • class rules

3. Student example

Before starting this project, I like to introduce good and bad examples of day care, by watching Daddy Day Care and using these video notes!
