What is "Crash Course Composition”?

“Crash Course Composition” is a YouTube series that works through the writing process and helps students to develop their basic writing skills. It is an excellent review for students familiar with the many aspects of writing, or a great learning tool to use when trying to help struggling students.

The episodes are packed with information, and give real world examples that help students understand the applications of the content being introduced. Students can take the skills they learn from these short videos and apply them to their writing immediately.

-Sometimes my students struggle to catch all of the questions as these videos present a great deal of information very quickly. This may not be as much of an issue with older students. To combat this issue though consider…..

-Cut down the questions. Have them answer only odds, only evens, or have them skip specific ones that don’t align with your learning goals for the day.

-Watch the video twice. This allows students to catch more of the information and fill in any questions that they missed.
