What educators are saying

This will fit so easily within my lessons this year. I was looking for a way to teach the new curriculum points. Great activities that are so easy to use. Thank you.
Also included in
  1. Ontario's new language curriculum has quite a few changes. It requires students to write an informational, persuasive and narrative text (D2.1). Indigenous authors and ways of knowing also play a large role in what students are expected to learn (C1.7). Writing in cursive writing is expected (D2.2).

Description

The book Coyote Tales by Thomas King is an excellent story that involves two trickster figures: coyote and raven. It is a perfect way to introduce indigenous story-telling styles to grades 3, 4, 5 and 6.

In this print and go book study, I cover multiple curriculum strands of Ontario's new language curriculum (2023). It is entirely print and go.

It includes the following:

-Questions

-True Or False? Coyote Activities

-Word Work Activities

-Comprehension Quiz

-Introduction to Fables and Indigenous Story-Telling

-Brief biography of Thomas King

-Write Your Own Fable Writing Assignment with Rubric

-Example Of A Fable

-Full Answer Key

AND Bonus: Cursive writing worksheets

"Coyote Tales" (the physical novel) can be purchased through scholastic or by clicking on the following link: Coyote Tales By Thomas King
