What educators are saying

My students love playing this game. It helps with counting coins and adding to 1.00. They ask my daily if they can play!
I used this with my own kids at home as an engaging way to learn about money. I also used it for many of my occupational therapy students as a way to help support their math educational goals. These students ranged in grades from 2nd to 12th grade and everyone absolutely loved it!

Description

In this fun and easy-to-manage math game, students will practice using the add-on strategy to count coins up to $1.00. It's great for math centers or whole-class review in groups.

This download contains:

* printable game board blackline master
* printable game board in color for laminating or example
* 2 score sheets to record coin values
* game directions

Simply provide each group of students (groups of 2+) with a game board, a pencil, a paper clip, and some coins. They'll take turns spinning the spinner and collecting coins to add to their pile. This gives students valuable practice in counting coins up to one dollar as they add on to what they already have. The first student to reach $1.00 (or 100 cents) is the winner!

In my second grade classroom, I use this activity as a math center to reinforce coin concepts. Students enjoy it so much that they've been known to play during indoor recess!
