These dominoes matching activities will help your students learn contractions. They make a great hands-on activity for reading centers.

INCLUDES:

  • Set 1 - contractions with am / is / are (12 dominoes)
  • Set 2 - contractions with has / have (12 dominoes)
  • Set 3 - contractions with not (12 dominoes)
  • Set 4 - contractions with will (8 dominoes)

To play, start with the domino that has a star and continue by matching pairs of words with the corresponding contractions. If all matches are made correctly, the student will end with the stop sign.

ASSESSMENT:

This resource also includes a digital Easel assessment. This is a 12-question quiz that is self-grading! Students either have to identify the correct contraction that stands for the words shown or identify the words that go with the contraction that is shown.
