Description

Do you need to reinforce counting and number recognition to 10?

Students will have fun practicing their one – one counting with these

Gingerbread Man Construction Workers. The cards range from 1 to 10 hammers. Students count the hammers and clip the number that represents their answer. If you don’t want to buy clothes pins you can have students use dry erase markers to circle the answer. Just print, laminate and cut out the cards. Cards can be self checking if you have a QR Code scanner or by writing the answer on the back or placing the answer on a sticker on the back.

Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
