Constructing Triangles - Mini Unit

A 4 day mini unit on constructing triangles using a ruler, protractor and a compass. Common Core standard 7.G.2. May used as low as 5th and up to 9th. Students learn basic construction with simple steps. You will really be able to see if students are able to use a protractor with accuracy and for construction in addition to measuring. Day 1 includes a simple task that is done in class and one construction to be done independently. Day 2 includes step by step construction using a compass and two constructions using a ruler and protractor. Day 3 includes 'special' triangles (isosceles and equilateral) one construction and two creations for partner work. Day 4 includes partner work and reflection.
