Description

This is a power point lesson on conserving the soil. This lesson goes over how we use the land in regards to agriculture, development, and mining.
It also shows how current practices can be harmful to soil and how it is a very precious resource.

The power point includes terms such as:
conservation
erosion
nutrient depletion
desertification
top soil
subsoil
land reclamation

Both the presentation and the work page documents can be found in the zip file. It has an answer key found on the last page. The product preview is the power point presentation in pdf form. Feedback is always appreciated.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RST.6-8.1- While completing the worksheets the students will be prompted to cite text from the presentation.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RST.6-8.2- A summary of the lesson is included at the end of presentation. Students are asked questions about the lesson and worksheets.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RST.6-8.3- Students are asked to follow a procedure while completing the worksheet.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RST.6.8.4- Diagrams are included with the presentation and the worksheet that is included will ask about symbols and items within the diagram.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.5.4 – Students should be able to determine the general meaning and vocabulary words in the relevant text.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.5.7- Students should be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly locate answers to questions on the worksheet while the power point is being presented
