If you do this unit I would suggest using Scratch. Myself and the Year Six teacher at my school completed this unit with our classes using Scratch and the students were able to successfully create their own games. There is a large amount of support for Scratch meaning students were able to troubleshoot their own issues, rather than relying on the teachers to figure it out.

I wrote this unit based on the Year Five and Six Digital Technologies section of the Technologies Australian Curriculum.
